Check Up Giddiness
Ready for my check up Mr DeMille!
At 63 I’ve had my share of yearly wellness exams and then on to specific care doctor’s appointments.
Going to the doctor has never been an ordeal for me. I gotta go, so I go.
Friday November 1st I had a totally different reaction.
For days leading up to it I had been so excited to see my doctor!! Kinda weird how much I was looking forward to seeing her.
I feel good.
My breast looks good, got my latte color back.
Lost a little weight not a bunch of poundage but whether 2lbs or 10, it’s all a win!
The appointment went very well, all to the glory of God!
I danced with gratitude that morning.
Praising God for just being able to feel the way that I do. The hormone therapy is not without its challenges but I’m doing what I’m supposed……okay well most of the time.
Okay, well some of the time.
I'm making certain changes with the hormone therapy that will help my body adjust a bit better. I don't mind having to go through hot flashes again, I just deal. They're flashes so really just a few seconds of heat and sweat doesn't phase me.
The fatigue is still an issue but moving about helps it considerably. Whether walking outside, or dancing in my living room, or using my Legxercise. She threw down the gauntlet on phone and tablet time before bed. Sleeplessness is a side effect and playing games or scrolling on those devices before bedtime is a huge factor. Well, experts have been saying that for decades.
My vitals were good and my breast is healing very nicely. The intermittent pain pings are just nerves waking up and healing as well. That's a normal occurrence so heal away!
This appointment today gave notice that this ends October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Yet, breast cancer awareness never ends!
Early detection is key!
Early detection saves lives!
Early detection saved mine!
Stay up and current on check ups and mammograms.
Don't be afraid of self-examination. Look at your breasts. Feel your breasts.
If you see something or feel something, say something!
